The Respect You Deserve
Caring, courteous, personal attention from professionals who understand your medical and emotional concerns and who respect and support your right to make informed decisions about your health care. At The Women's Healthcare Group, our practice is dedicated exclusively to obstetrics and gynecology, which encompasses the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of women's health problems. A woman goes through many changes during the course of her life. To help deal with these transitions, she needs an experienced healthcare team she can trust who will take the time to listen to her concerns. We at The Women's Healthcare Group are here to meet these needs. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident every time you walk through our door. We realize visiting a doctor isn't always pleasant, but we strive to make the experience as stress free as possible. Helping you understand who we are and how we function in striving to meet your total obstetrical and gynecological health needs will ensure the highest quality healthcare. We have developed a collaborative model of practice whereby the physicians, nurse midwives, and nurse practitioners provide care together in a complimentary fashion to build upon each other's strengths.
What Differentiates Our Practice
The Women's Healthcare Group was formed in 1965 when Drs. John Monk, William Taylor Delp, and Samuel Deisher merged their then three independent practices thus forming the first group OB/GYN practice in York County. The group has changed over the years as members have retired and new colleagues have joined, but we have remained constant in our focus to provide the women of South Central Pennsylvania with quality, dependable, superior health care.
We remain the oldest and largest independent OB/GYN practice in York and Adams Counties. Our relationship with you as a patient is personal and confidential. We have a variety of providers with special interests to meet your needs. We have worked diligently to remain independent of large hospitals and medical corporations, enabling us great flexibility in individualizing your care. We have assembled a staff dedicated to helping patients navigate the complex health care process. In this day of "big medicine", we continue to strive to act as a private practice; friendly, respectful and still excited about the practice of obstetrics and gynecology! More so than any medical speciality, obstetrics and gynecology requires open communication to establish mutual understanding, respect, confidence, and trust. We are available 24 hours a day for all patient concerns. We foster an open-minded approach, allowing patients much input into all health care decisions. We offer you the highest standards of care in our speciality.
Our practice has combined the talents and personalities of six board-certified physicians, three certified registered nurse practitioners, and three certified nurse midwives. In order to provide 24-hour medical care, the physicians rotate their call schedules thus allowing one physician to be available at all times for obstetrical care and any gynecologic emergencies that need to be addressed outside of office hours. Our single centralized office affords us the ability to easily access your medical records if needed thus assuring continuity of care between providers. As in any group practice, there may be minor variations in treatment recommendations, however we are associated out of trust and respect for each other and feel comfortable that our individual commitment to patients can be met by any one of us.
